NOVEMBER MONTHLY REPORT 2021-2022

Academics

·         For II & III B.Sc Chemistry & II PG students completed their Model Semester Exam.

·         For I B.Sc Chemistry & I PG students completed their CIA-I Exam.

·         Total number of working days in the month of November 17 Days.

·         Our I M.Sc Chemistry Students Ms.Saranya won 2nd place in District level tournament Chess Competition

·         On 01st  Nov 2021, 02nd  Nov 2021 and 26th  Nov 2021 our PG Students participated in Rangoli, Mehandi Art, Wealth out of waste and Jewelry Art off stage Cultural Event.

·         On 2nd Nov 2021 in our college we celebrated Pre-Diwali Celebration

·         Our department Faculty Ms.R.Ramya won Nal Asaan Venpura Award from Pasumai Vasal Foundation on 14.11.2021.

·         Our Deparment faculties and lab supporting staffs are completed Final Dose Vaccination.

·         Our Department Head Dr.M.Charumathy,published two Book Chapter Microbiology and Biotechnology.

Ira Remsen developed the first artificial sweetener.

  A former president of Johns Hopkins University, Remsen is credited with the  discovery of the popular artificial sweetener known as saccharin. Today, saccharin is  widely used in the U.S., sweetening everything from diet soft drinks to toothpaste. Remsen first synthesized the substance in 1878 while working with his postdoctoral colleague, Constantine Fahlberg.  As the story goes , Remsen was uninterested in the practical application of saccharin, but Fahlberg was eager to capitalize on the commercial potential and rushed to obtain a patent for saccharin. Fahlberg then attempted to take all the credit for the discovery, a move that didn't sit too well with his colleague.
